The restaurant, which is known for its mezcal bar and Mexican cuisine, offers a wide variety of traditional Mexican dishes from different parts of Mexico. Beyond the food, the restaurant offers a rich history and a fascinating story behind its founding. To learn more about the story of both the restaurant and its owners, we talked to the owners of La Palapa, Oscar and Jesus. Pittsburgh: Cultures, Cooks, and Cuisines - Colombian Representation in Pittsburgh Alondra Robles · PCCC EP3 - Colombian Representation in Pittsburgh Through Alondra’s interview with The Colombian Spot, hosts Alondra and Emril explore how Colombian representation in Pittsburgh has slowly been emerging. Karen Perdomo alongside her husband opened The Colombian Spot in 2018. In this episode we learn more about Karens personal story and her journey to bring Colombian representation to Pittsburgh. This episode highlights the various successes and challenges Karen faces. As well as highlighting the most prominent cultures in Pittsburgh and how that has slowly been changing. Further, we see how The Colombian Spot has been a pioneer in bringing Colombian representation to Pittsburgh.
